Senior Cost Manager - West Central London (Westminster)

The Role: They are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be the latest addition to their London Surveying team & branch!
The ideal candidate must be well experienced and be able to work with and manage a team of professionals across all different roles. You will also need to have an analytical mind and exceptional organisational skills to ensure all projects are delivered on time & within the budget.
Project values typically range from £10M - £100M.
Job Responsibilities
Undertake & manage the process of generating cost plans using established and developed costing and benchmark information from previous experience, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers
Present cost plans and develop options as necessary, establishing costing benchmarks for the sector.
Provide alternative value engineering options to products and construction methods throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop standardised rates, procurement and construction methodology, and present back to clients and supply chain managers.
Lead the process of determining procurement strategies across main and sub contract packages.
Manage the process of sourcing contractors and specialist sub contractors / suppliers, overseeing pre-qualification processes, interviews and assessments.
Compile tender package information and manage the tender process, including interviewing, overseeing and managing tender queries, and managing receipt of tender returns.
Assess tender returns effectively and efficiently, and present findings.
Review contract amendments, negotiate and achieve final agreement.
Undertake valuations and provide input into regular project meetings.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure cost management duties are met.
Provide commercial and technical advice across the full client portfolio and project life cycle particularly for the self-storage sector from previous experience.
Active management of cost risk.
Mentor and develop junior members of the team, taking an active role in their progression through their own professional journey.
Actively participate in Company Executive Groups (CEGs) to promote the development of the various business operations, ranging from technical excellence to market leading solutions

Requirements for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
Previous experience working for UK based property & construction consultancy
Ideally educated to degree or equivalent level in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Membership of a chartered institute (or working towards) in the construction industry (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, CIOB)
Track record of successful project budgetary management cost reporting and cost control through the project lifecycle on projects of varying sizes and complexity
In-depth knowledge of construction contract management including standard forms of contract and procurement options
Excellent communication skills
