Building Surveyor - Central London (London Bridge)

The Company: A small, dynamic Central London based consultancy, specialising in capital and development project management!

Their team provides professionals to the public and private sector, delivering services from inception through to completion and operation. The companies in an incredibly healthy position. Owning three offices (leasing two) and with plans to open a northern office.

The Role: They are looking expand the Building Surveying area of the business, with the recruitment of an enthusiastic and talented Building Surveyor!

You would be working on various education and public-sector schemes throughout the whole project life cycle, with average values typically ranging from £1M-£10M.

You will need to be confident in undertaking condition surveys and support the project management team with the delivery of construction projects. You will also be required to produce a schedule of conditions, reports, defect surveys and PPM schedules, mainly in the education sector.

Other Tasks & Responsibilities Include

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Undertaking building surveys and site inspections

  • Preparation of Schedules of Work and Specifications for all types of maintenance and construction projects

  • Management of sub-consultants and contractors

  • Delivery of contract administration services

  • Arranging meetings and collating project documentation as required

  • Experience in the provision of professional Building Surveying services such as technical due diligence advice

  • Proactively assist the project management team in the day-to-day delivery of projects

  • Attend client meetings and take accurate minutes/notes

  • Development of project documentation, programmes, reports and budgets

  • Work with external clients and consultant teams

Requirements for the Building Surveyor:

  • Degree qualified – within a construction related discipline

  • Membership of RICS (or working towards this)

  • Excellent time management

  • Understanding of the needs and demands of clients and will to exceed their expectations

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal

  • Able to prioritise workload, planning ahead as required

  • Able to work individually or in a team

  • Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

  • Good business development skills
