The Role: I’m introducing this exciting role to join my clients vibrant and expanding Building Surveying team. You’ll be assisting and managing instructions and projects, reporting directly to the Head of the Building Surveying team, working on a wide range of residential & public sector properties.

What the job involves:

  • Managing instructions and projects.

  • Collating and writing reports.

  • Contributing to the team’s skill base developing efficient working practices.

  • Collaborating and managing external stakeholders in order to understand and fulfil the client’s needs.

  • Managing client projects and looking for opportunities for new client development.

  • Producing tender documents including specifications, preambles and preliminaries using NBS or similar packages.

  • Producing management reports and communicating progress and forecasts to the client team, including all pre and post contract management duties.

  • Attending sites, as well as internal and external client facing meetings.

  • Assisting in promoting sustainable thinking to our clients and have a basic level of understanding as to how to integrate sustainable thinking into our projects.

Requirements for the Senior Building Surveyor:

  • Experience working for a UK based Property & Construction Consultancy (essential)

  • Chartered with a minimum of two years post qualification experience or are working towards this

  • Building Surveying Degree awarded by a UK university and accredited by the RICS

  • Demonstrable experience of technical due diligence surveys

  • A solid understanding and demonstrable experience in defect diagnosis and planned maintenance schedules

  • Demonstrable experience in party walls and neighbourly advice

  • Demonstrable experience of advising owners and occupiers on maintenance and statutory responsibilities

  • Advanced understanding of contract administration

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD with a good working knowledge in all Microsoft Office packages
