Employers Agent - East Midlands
The Role: Highly attractive opportunity to join an ambitious, expanding consultancy in their East Midlands office.
This client is looking for a proactive, forward-thinking individual that shares the same and ambition to make a difference and be a part of their exciting long-term plans.
You would be operating across the company’s high-end residential, student accommodation & luxury care homes projects that have taken this client across the East Midlands and even to London!
Experience in these sectors is beneficial but not essential, it’s all about the individual. However, if you have any experience with multi-rooms (student accommodation, hotels or retirement living) this would be highly advantageous.
These projects are usually around £10M in value, you would also be involved with four schemes at the same time.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working on the Project Management and Cost Management roles from inception to completion. Scope can cover:
Pre Contract Project/ Cost Management:
Feasibility/option studies, due diligence, planning application management, master project programming, concept and detail design process management, tender and contractor appointment process.
Post Contract Project/ Cost Management:
Contract Document preparation, issuing site instructions and variation instructions, cost control during the progress of the works, interim valuations, cost reporting to the Client, monitoring build quality, chairing site and client meetings, preparing and agreeing final accounts, practical completion snagging and the management of making good defects periods.

Requirements for the Employers Agent:
Previous experience working for UK based property & construction consultancy
Ideally educated to degree or equivalent level in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Membership of a chartered institute (or working towards) in the construction industry (e.g. RICS, CIBSE, CIOB)
Track record of successful project budgetary management cost reporting and cost control through the project lifecycle on projects of varying sizes and complexity
In-depth knowledge of construction contract management including standard forms of contract and procurement options
Excellent communication skills
